Emily Armstrong is a senior studio art major with minors in biology, chemistry and women’s and gender studies. She is also a member of the Carlow University women’s tennis team.

“It is a lot of fun, I love traveling and meeting other teams around our conference. I have made a lot of friends through our team, and through meeting other teams. I love my teammates – I definitely consider my teammates my family,” Armstrong said. “It gets hectic sometimes, but it’s totally worth it, and I am so happy that I chose to compete at the collegiate level.”

Armstrong has so many stories to tell about her time on the tennis team, all of the fun they’ve had and how close they’ve become. “I remember having my parents bring my dog to come watch my match at Kentucky and being able to meet my teammates and my coaches. I remember sitting in the hotel room that we had with my family, all of my teammates were petting Daisy, and we were just laughing and having a great time. It was a great moment, full of love and joy.”

The Celtic tennis team is coached by Gina Lovaglio. The team’s season begins Friday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m. and continues throughout the spring semester until the end of April.
