A Virtual Camino

Written by Guinevere Stearns

If you are tired of quarantine and are looking for something fun to do as the weather gets warmer, look no further than The Conqueror. This is an online challenge that allows you to put all your exercise together and work towards the finish line.

One of the challenges, the Camino De Santiago, is a pilgrimage through Europe that ends in Santiago, Spain. The pilgrimage is 480.9 miles in total, and as you move forward with your virtual challenge, you receive postcards from the different towns that you virtually walk through.

Another wonderful feature of The Conqueror is the ability to see where you are on a map. For every 20% of the hike that you complete, you plant a tree, and make the world a little bit greener.

This challenge is super easy to sign up for, and only costs $35 for entry plus your medal upon completion. Other challenges vary in price. You can sign up here. Just follow the steps on the website to sign up and enjoy your journey!

If you want something to look forward to and a fun project during the pandemic, then this is what you can do! I started my virtual Camino in August, and it was such a fun way to get up and get moving during quarantine. Get up and take a refreshing hike and earn your Camino Medal.
