JuJu Staying in Pittsburgh

JuJu Smith-Schuster, #19, wide reciever for the Pittsburgh Steelers

You don’t need to be from Pittsburgh to know how much JuJu Smith-Schuster is loved by this city, and he loves it back just as much. Recently, Smith-Schuster has gotten other offerings from NFL teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Philadelphia Eagles but turned them down.

Not taking these has made Smith-Schuster the third wide receiver in the organization to earn a second contract, following Hines Ward and Antonio Brown. Smith-Schuster decided to take the deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers even though he says it was “probably like my third-lowest offer.”

After Smith-Schuster decided to stay in Pittsburgh, he tweeted out, “This is my home; they’re going to need a wrecking ball to get me out of here! PITTSBURGH, I LOVE YOU, LETS GO!!!!!”

Last year, the Steelers took a hit by the season-ending loss to the Cleveland Browns. Smith-Schuster has made a comment about this by saying, “I think they are still the same Browns that I’ve always played every year.”

Smith-Schuster said before that last game, “I think they are nameless gray faces. They have a couple good players on their team. But at the end of the day the Browns is the Browns.”

Also, in the 2020 season, Smith-Schuster became very popular on popular social media platform, TikTok. He would post videos of himself dancing on opponent’s logos before games. Head coach Mike Tomlin then went to Smith-Schuster when it was drawing more and more attention from opponents and the media.
